Account Manager - Accounting Services Position

Remote/work-from-home (must have availability M-F, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm CST)

This is a full-time hourly W2 position 

Minnesota Metro Area or Western Wisconsin residency required (monthly in-person meeting in Hastings, MN)

Job Description:

In this role, you'll support a diverse portfolio of clients by managing their day-to-day financial record-keeping needs, freeing them up to focus on growing their businesses. You'll also lead clients through comprehensive financial reviews, using data-driven insights to spot trends, recommend strategic shifts, and collaborate on meaningful solutions that support their goals. This role requires someone who can think big-picture, connect the dots, and help clients understand the story behind their numbers.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Set up, maintain and reconcile client financial record-keeping needs using QuickBooks Online.

  • Perform accounts payable duties such as validating all invoices and employee expense reports for payment, ensuring that expenditures are charged to appropriate accounts, processing year-end 1099 forms and year-end reconciliations, and filing/paying monthly and quarterly sales tax returns (multi-state).

  • Perform accounts receivable duties such as generating purchase orders, client invoices and ensuring proper application of client receipts. Perform weekly collections of past due accounts and provide progress reports.

  • Prepare timely and accurate reports using QBO, Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.

  • Analyze financial trends, discrepancies and opportunities for client future growth.

  • Build positive and professional client relationships through phone calls, virtual interactions and written communication.

  • Conduct financial reviews with clients to discuss the health of their business, review metrics and support the financial goals of each client.

  • Ability to handle several clients simultaneously through time management, prioritization and personal organization.

  • Operate with a high degree of independence while maintaining a collaborative team connection.

  • Recommend ways to improve and enhance client services.

  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality.

  • Desire to grow professionally and personally.

  • Other duties as assigned based on client needs.

Position Requirements:

  • Proficiency working in QuickBooks Online is a MUST.

  • Outstanding customer service skills.

  • Understands GAAP.

  • Excellent organizational, oral, and written skills.

  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all output.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

  • One or more of the following should apply: Associate's Degree in finance, accounting, or related field, or bookkeeping certification plus minimum 2 years work experience, or minimum 5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.

  • Minnesota Metro Area or Western Wisconsin residency required (monthly in-person meeting in Hastings, MN).
